ANDY MITTON

I've worked for nearly fifteen years as a horror filmmaker and composer for film and theater. My newest film, THE HARBINGER, was released theatrically and streaming by XYZ Films after playing to acclaim at festivals like Fantasia, Sitges, FrightFest, and many more. It follows the success of 2018’s The Witch in the Window, also festival darling, and eventually picked up as a Shudder “Original.” My previous film work includes We Go On (writer/co-director) and Yellowbrickroad (co-writer/co-director), both released around the world, garnering cult status with fans along the way.

Outside of my own films, I’ve provided services as composer, songwriter, performer, sound designer/editor for other projects, and I am excited to open myself up to new collaborations through the great people at Three & One. I’m an especially useful one-stop shop for someone looking for a combination mix of music, design, and sound editing.

As an instrumental composer, I've scored my last three features, as well as several plays, trailers, and logos. My music comes in a variety of styles - rock, jazz, classical, electronic, folk, and more. I’m an experienced vocalist, pianist, and guitarist. I work in Logic Pro and have an extensive library of instruments, samples, and sounds to draw from.

For anyone looking for actual songs with lyrics and vocals, I’ve written songs for everything from hard rock bands to folk acts to bluegrass, and especially musical theater, where I’ve worked extensively. In 2018, I wrote the songs and co-wrote "Me...Jane: The Dreams & Adventures of Young Jane Goodall” (based on Patrick McDonnell’s children’s book) for the Kennedy Center Family Theater, where it premiered and went on to a national tour. In 2014 I composed for another Kennedy Center production, “The Gift of Nothing,” featuring characters from the MUTTS comic strip.
